Ambitions & Harry Potter: Order of the Phoenix

Ambitions:
Today I met a friend who had the same scholarship as me and I realized that his perspective of life is very different due to his background. Although he was often top in grades and held significant leadership positions in school, he never went to an elite school. He told me that most of his friends are now selling handphones and some are jobless. His experiences have probably shaped his ambitions - just have a comfy, well-paying job and not really mind if that job is boring/unchallenging. Actually I am sure that many people hold the same point of view as him yet, I cannot do it, even if sometimes it may make me less happy with the status quo. I thrive on being challenged, learning, and having something to look forward to regarding something I do that takes up more than half my time in one day :). Is it too much to expect of my job? I'll let you know when I've started working.

Harry Potter V:
The NUS Med Fac was screening the Harry Potter sneak preview today as part of a charity drive so Hoon and I decided to watch it together. We had dinner @ a Japanese place that served paper pot...yummy!! We even had sashimi and an unagi bowl with the paper pot. I really liked the ambience of the place cuz there were no people and we had a cosy corner seat all to ourselves.
The movie itself was really good, especially the special effects. Since I had read the book, there was not much too unexpected about it other than what the characters look like. Voldemort looked really scary - like a cross between a noseless Mr Smith (in the Matrix) and Satan in The Passion of Christ. Harry's bad dreams about reaching the door of the Ministry of Magic were also extremely scary. Aiyah. It's just me. Since I got older, I have been less tolerant about scary scenes, especially scenes that have something to do with impending death (you know the character is going to die but how????).
