SO6A Class Reunion

Only five people attended this mini class reunion - Xiaolei, Alex, Trini, Zairu and me. We ate at Ambrosia, a Mediterranean restaurant. The ambiance was not bad, a bit dark with slightly loud music, where people had to sit on the floor. Food was overpriced and not good though. Who pays S$10 for 2 pieces of pita, with 5 mini sauces? My lamb sausage was 3 lumps of dried up lamb patties...not impressive.

It seems that everyone who attended is in a different phase of life than two years ago, when I last saw them. Alex has just started work at Cambridge Associates (and not used to working life yet with the post lunch sleepiness, and pre lunch hunger), Trini has been working for almost a year at PwC. Glad to hear that Xiaolei has accepted an offer with Goldman Sachs Investment Research in Beijing and is going to start work at around the same time as me. Zairu is still in NUS Med School and will be starting her housemanship soon. Maybe everyone will be married/engaged by the next time we meet up...

Another thing I noticed is that everyone who attended has high flying jobs - doctor, accountant, consultant, banker...what profession are we missing out then. Oh yes...a lawyer. Are we driven by pure love for our jobs, or is it the prestige, compensation, challenges or all of the above?
