Was that a hurricane? It seemed merely like those thunderstorms you'd get in Singapore! Just a bit windier and colder. Lotsa tree branches snapped but no trees were uprooted. Surprisingly enuff, the "city" of Durham had 2 million ppl whose electricity supply was cut off by the thunderstorm?! I don't get it. The winds weren't that strong ...why did cables snap? The only reason I can think of is that the cable system is lousy. Shawn's theory is that the whole of USA's tech is concentrated in cities and silicon valley, leaving the rest of the places in a rather primitive state. Why can't USA be like Singapore? (cuz it's much bigger!but honestly I'm beginning to like Singapore much much more!)
Next week is hell. So much hwk due and there's an Econ test. Econ has suddenly taken on a very Mathematical turn. All graph drawing and almost no definitions to memorise. It was as though our basics were laid out in A levels!

US textbooks are so long winded. They take a whole paragraph to explain one miserly point! They're are expensive and have hard covers too (hard to lug around campus esp if you live 5 min away fromthe bus stop and 5 min+10min bus ride to west campus +5 min walk to Math class...
