Heya guys! I'm feeling much better now...didn't know I had so "amazing" recovery powers. I actually recovered on tuesday. Ever since monday, the skin peeled on my nose (due to a combi of dry weather and too much blowing) but it's since healed. I'm really grateful to all those who nagged at me....=)
Now is mid autumn fest rite? It also happens to be Sept 11. While the Americans mourn their lost, here is the Duke Asian Society having a celebration with mooncakes and pomelos.
BTW the day before yesterday, the Duke Chronicle (official Duke Press) did a tally of the freshmen international students and presented it with the statistics under each country's flat. Somehow they got the Singapore flag and the Taiwan flag mixed up! *humph* No wonder there is a less satisfactory than expected interaction b/w American Dukies and the internationals. They don't know enough about the world outside USA (not all though but just a majority).
Hanjiang called Kim and I on Tuesday. She's settling in at Princeton with her super nice roommates in a 2 room suite. She was supposed to call at 7.30pm but there were many complications that I received her call at 9.30pm. It was mainly cuz Kim gave me her keys to open her door but I really couldn't open it. Sounds real spas right? Anyway her neighbours tried her door as well...siao one...so hard to open. I told her that I was having a nice time a Duke except that I was v sian. Sian ppl always find ways to occupy themselves...like inventing scandals..hehe.
Anyone got ideas on how I should spend fall break (it's 4 days only). I feel that I shouldn't be on campus, should take the chance to explore outside Durham. I was supposed to go to NY with Kim and some Singaporeans but they couldnt' accomodate too many ppl. sigh.
My com service tutoring project is starting on Tue all the way till the end of the term. Kinda excited but worried that my half baked version of the US accent will not be understood.

Oh dear, my mom has learnt how to use internet banking!!!!!!!!!my GOSH...some ppl can do anything for the sake of love (and money too hehe). Before I left she couldn't even operate the internet. Now she can go on google and search for the bank's name and login etc. Wah...amazing!
