Wax"owwww"ing

Today was a pretty hectic day. Not only did I have to go for class, public speaking tutorial (to rehearse my speech) and pack my bags for another lightning trip to Duke but I also tried out a new beauty thing - eyebrow waxing!

Whhhhyyyyyy must women endure so much pain in the name for beauty. If you know me well, you know that I am probably least concerned with my looks but still I am adventurous..so I went to NTT Skin near Cal Station to see what new eyebrow shape she could give me.

I was extremely impressed by the results. My eyebrows are probably the most difficult to maintain/wax/pluck etc because one side is more sparse than the other. I tried to maintain my eyebrows but ended up with quite embarrassing results. The beautician spent almost half an hour on my eyebrows. Soooo for those who don't know, this is how waxing is done. Wax is melted in this special container and is applied to a person's face using an ice-cream stick. The beautician uses the stick to draw the shape of the eyebrow and then she pastes a piece of cloth for the wax to stick on and rips it off deftly. It was a bit painful but her technique was impressive and so were the results! I finally have symmetrical eyebrows that don't have a crazily high arch. However, my eyebrow area is swollen (not to mention the pimples that developed on it later). Soooo no more waxing for me!

On another note, my sponsor has not paid my school fees yet, nor have they paid my allowance even though it was due at the beginning of March. I characterize slowness with inefficiency/bochupness/busyness/crappy HR.
