I am back in sg again!

Holidays are here finally. For those who saw my MSN nickname during school term, you’d know how long I’ve been counting down to this period.
Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee…

Let me describe my flight home:
Due to bad weather (foggy and all), our internal flight planes were delayed by one hour. It was quite irritating cuz DX and I practically RAN for the plane only to discover it wasn’t taking off till an hour later. The blessing was that if the plane did take off earlier, my baggage might not have been transferred into the plane on time and it’d be tons of trouble to get the baggage onto SIA flight to SG.

Newark-Singapore flight dist flight was indeed the most comfortable I’ve ever taken. The seats were bigger and there was a real leg rest including foot rests. Of course flight entertainment rocks and I entertained myself by watching movies. I really liked “My Little Bride” and “Jeux D’Enfants”. The first movie is a Korean production with a quite cute male lead and a tiny n kiddy cutish female lead.
Mini Synopsis of “My Little Bride”
They’re childhood friends and the gal’s grandfather tricked them into getting married when the gal was only 16 and the guy was ermmm about 22 (grandfather would pretend he had a heart attack whenever the gal said she didn’t wanna get married). And so…they lived together, despite everyone getting very worried about whether they would get along. The gal ran off before their honeymoon and went to date a really cute baseball player and then…the whole twist was when the guy (who wanted to be an art teacher) got posted to the girl’s high school for an internship. All the girls were hitting on him lor, including this really horrible cheap art teacher mentor of his then his wife got very jealous. He also got jealous when he found out about his wife having a boyfriend. They never actually said out their jealously larhh but they both knew. The art teacher mentor who was hitting on the guy found out about their relationship and assigned the girl a humongous mural painting job that was impossible to complete in a week. However, the guy got his friends and they went to help out when his wife wasn’t around and they finished the job. Sometime then, the girl realized that the guy wasn’t such a big flirt after all (after reading his little black book and letters that she had written to him that he kept!) and was actually serious about her so she broke up with her bf. On the presentation day, a jealous college student announced on stage that the guy was married to the girl student and the school was in shock…then the guy kinda admitted his love for her and the girl walked on stage and said “I think I have some feelings for you”. Hehe so sweet! During some point in the movie, a student in the girl’s class had asked the guy to tell the class about his true love and he had actually described the girl without saying her name (and I was clueless on who she was referring to). But then, everything became clear in retrospect when I realize at the beginning of the movie, the guy was on the plane to Korea and looking at the girl’s photo. This movie is so sweet and funny – simply worth a watch.

Mini Synopsis of “Jeux D’Enfants”
This movie is REALLY twisted. It’s about this little boy and gal who got to know each other in prep school through a dare with a tin box that had a carousel painted around it. Basically what the boy did to fulfil the first dare was to disengage the handbrake of the bus and the bus driver had to go chasing after the bus hehehehe. They continued with those bets till they actually fell in love but refused to admit it. The dares are just hilarious and you should really watch them. The movie got draggy towards the end though and I don’t know whether they ended up stuck in concrete or eventually at an old folk’s home.

What else did I watch errrrrrmhnmmm…can’t really remember. Oh yes, Catwoman.. Meow, go gurl power and kick those guys asses!

The rest of the ride was uneventful, save babies crying when the plane was landing, which is common occurrence. Despite the sheer comfort/luxury of the flight I was still horribly eager to step out into the humid, rainy Singapore and give my parents a hug!

From now on, it will be this week -> SLACK. Next week and next next 2 weeks -> PUB internship. Last week before going back to Duke -> SLACK.

For now, I’ve been trying to exercise. Been actually waking up at 615am to do morning jog around the track outside SMU. It is crazy lah…I still have problems doing 1.6km within the stipulated primary school pass timing (argh) cuz I think I am quite unwilling to push myself beyond limits as I know it will cause breathing difficulties. Oh well…no pain no gain. I will prevail and Chiat you just watch out. I wanna see you go broke on that Washington Duke treat, so I hope you turn into a beefy hunk and end up gaining weight instead! *evil grinz*

Oh yes, I am up for an interview with the First Degree (in Today newspaper) for PUB next week. Dunno what questions they will ask me but I am quite sure the 3 big questions would be:
Why PUB? Why PUB for Econs?
Why U.S. for Econs?
What have you gained from your U.S. experience?

The rest of the week will be spent loafing around (ooh I just love the idea of it since I’ve been waiting to loaf around the whole semester. This is called delayed gratification). My friend HK friend Penny will be visiting Singapore next week so I am looking forward to this and will be also arranging the thing with Tengyee who’ll prob be driving down from KL.

The fun is only beginning!
