Sketchy parties...

For those who haven't heard from me about the party I went to on Friday night, there's how it went.

At 1215am, 5 nicely preened girls set off to Parizades (this dance club)for the Asian Students Assoc Triangle Region Mixer. The dance club is decent but the disco lights are sort of makeshift. I think the place could function as a cafe by day. We met up with other friends there and started dancing.
First, I noticed something odd. Why did the guys dance BEHIND the girls? I thought it's face to face? Anyway, we danced in a group first. Then Laura got accosted by this fat korean guy whom she unwillingly danced with for 5 min, then Pat.... then Kim (who danced with this guy for the whole night face to face, lucky!) OK so what is the rationale for guys dancing behind girls? Hey I tot the guy wants to see the gal's face? Apparently not, I think they do so because they want to chi1 dou4 fu (i.e. take adv of the gal).
I had obvious co-ordination probs (thankfully) and no guys dared to take me on, save this group of korean guys who inched closer and closer towards our group and attacked us from behind. EEks...you should see yingmin's expression of horror. My dancing was so uncoordinated with the person dancing behind me so he gave up after a while. We girls tried to move in between each other so no one would come behind us. We also got David and Rivai to help cut in and save us from horrible partners. In a corner, there were also these (quite not good looking) guys who were partnerless and checking out the girls on the dance floor. Obviously there were also couples who were dancing face to face.
And later, we discovered that the bunch of korean guys were from Korean and barely out of high school. This is such a wrong place to fish for guys anyway...only gives rise to random hookups and goodness knows what.
We got back at 3am in the cold...I realized that I did sweat alot but I doubt it was from "exercising"...more likely the place was to jam packed with moving bodies and very very sketchy people. I think ballroom dancing is more fun and the people are prob more decent.
