My Birthday!!
Haiyarh....turning 20...feeling so old. Being 20 is like you're in between teenage and adult-you don't belong anywhere!
My celebrations were great.

Bday dinner
Yesterday we had dinner at Washington Duke Hotel, this supposedly famous 5 star hotel off west campus. We had to dress up in formal wear-no jeans or singlets. Of course the meal cost a bomb but we used food points to pay for it=P.One particularly memorable moment was after our main course when the jazz band suddenly struck up a "Happy Birthday" tune and a chocolate cake (with some pudding inside..dunno what's that called) with ice-cream was served. There was also a single candle on the mini-sized cake. Everything was compliments of the hotel. Hehe...that was so sweet...
After we got back, Teng Yee and I sat in my room and talked about our problems and some religion business. She kinda agrees with me about the whole idea of having a religion and priorities in life etcetc. Hope we get along well in summer school (she's rooming with me then).
Then, the Singaporeans pulled a surprise on me. They lured me out of my room, then filled it with balloons and came in with the presents! =D... Some of the Singaporeans gave me a bath set and necklace from Express, YQ gave me a book entitled "How to get filthy stinking rich and still have time for great sex" (it's not really what you think it is haha) and MOST IMPORTANTLY...I received a Pottery Barn Teens green pillow that had a screen for putting photos...thank you H.E.K.! I'm quite sure my bday card from them is still in the US post. It probably had to originate from UK where Emily is, then go to Hoon then Kim.

Messy room filled with balloons
HAhahah...I got another surprise. This was so totally unexpected. I was supposed to join everyone at Marketplace for brunch today but they kept pushing the brunch timing backwards. I admit being a bit pissed and thought that maybe they couldn't get the cake on time. So, I walked out to wait for them but there was no one outside...I went back to my room. 5 min later, there was a knock on the door. Kelvin, YQ and Pat were holding trays of food!!! *surprise, surprise* Pat gave me several really pretty balloons which I promptly tied to my door handle. I also received a yellow flower (dunno what it is). SOoooooooooooooooooooo Sweet of them! Kelvin also printed out a menu for me: we had orange & pineapple juice, strawberries with whipped cream, ham and eggs, chocolate chips pancake (made by Pat) and chocolate chip banana cake (made by Kelvin). Heard that YQ helped out with baking the cake i.e. using this mixer for half an hour to make sure all the ingredients were well-blended. Thank you guys!!!! I heard that they woke up at 930am just to run to the grocery then cook the food!
I was feeling so sluggish after brunch and promptly fell asleep. UGHZ...I was supposed to do my essay...! Then, somehow I got really psyched up to take a walk around campus. Today was such a fine day...another day with a cloudless sky and about 25C. It feels good just walking by yourself and sort of getting away from civilization for a moment.
My birthday cake arrived at dinner. It was a Ben & Jerry's ice cream cake....YUMMY! (oh yah...how sinful too). We then watched Ms Congeniality on TV and Bai3 Nian2 Hao3 He2 on Pat's laptop.

Balloon Bouquet
*Satisfied Sigh*
It was such a GREAT DAY... Thank you to everyone who made this possible!
